Manakamana Temple Cable Car Fare Hiked

CHITWAN, July 18, 2013: The Manakamana Cable Car Pvt Ltd has increased the fare of cable car service since July 16. The Cable Car Management Committee has hiked the fare by 150 rupees per ticket. 

The price of one ticket was Rs. 425 before this and it has been increased due to the hike in prices in every sector, said DN Kayastha, Manager at the Manakamana Darshan Pvt. Ltd. Hindu pilgrims use the cable car service operated by the firm to go to the Manakamana Temple in Gorkha district. 

The pilgrims travel to the temple in cable cars from Chitwan Darechok. They are badly affected with the hike in fares. 

This is the only tax-paying cable car company in the country.
