Tirupati, July 10, 2013: A three-day programme, ‘Jyestha Abhishekam’, will be held at Sri Govindarajaswami Temple from July 18 to 20.

The gold armour adorned to the deity of Lord Govindaraja will be cleansed in a purification ritual for three days.

The pilgrims, will get a chance to observe the idol in its original form. As a part of the programme, rituals like ‘Mahasanthi Homam’, ‘Punyahavachanam’, ‘Satakalasa Snapanam’ along with a procession will be taken on the streets around the temple.

This programme is held in the Telugu month – ‘Ashada Masam’ under ‘Jyestha nakshatram’ every year.
