He said that instead of indulging in politics over Nature's fury, people should devise ways to provide immediate relief to victims of Uttarakhand tragedy.

Extending heartfelt condolences to affected families, the Shankaracharya said efforts should be made to provide relief materials and security to devotees who thronged Uttarakhand for religious pilgrimage.

He also exhorted the Union and State governments to work in co-ordination and provide relief materials to the affected people. Every person, organization and government should assist the victim in this tumultuous time, he said.

Describing the Uttarakhand flood as doomsday, he said that it was first incident of its kind in Devbhoomi and added that he would pray to God that catastrophe of such intensity do not occur in future. Cautioning against politics on Nature's fury, he said that helping the victims should be given priority.
