Donate Generously to the Flood Victims

Bangalore, June 28, 2013: If you want to donate daily use items for those affected by the floods in Uttarakhand, Indian Railways will transport them free of cost till July 9. You can donate woollens, warm bedspreads, steel kitchen items and other daily use items, a State government release said. The Bangalore Urban Deputy Commissioner has been appointed nodal officer to handle the collected items and send them.

The State government has also set up a 24-hour helpline, 080-22253707, at the State Disaster Management Centre to help the families and friends of pilgrims currently stranded in Uttarakhand. Information can also be had from the toll-free number 1070. If you have any information on missing pilgrims, you can email to secyrelief-rev @karnataka.gov.in or secy.dm@gmail.com.
