A nadaswara artist, R. Balamurali Kannan, employed in the Lord Sundaraja Perumal Temple in Alagarkoil, was arrested on charges of stealing Rs. 7,700 while counting the hundial collection at the temple on Tuesday. Suspecting the abnormal behaviour of the employee of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department during the counting of hundial collection, the others frisked him and found the money. He was handed over to the Appantirupathi police.
