Former CBI JD Visits Srikalahasti Temple

SRIKALAHASTI: The former Joint Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), V.V. Lakshminarayana, who stepped down recently, visited Srikalahasti on Friday, after praying at Tirumala Sri Venkateswara temple the previous night.

Along with his family members, he offered prayers at the shrines of Srikalahastheeswara Swamy and Goddess Gnana Prasunambika, besides performing the ‘Rahu Ketu Puja’, a ritual that is believed to remove obstacles in one’s endeavour and also bring fortune.

Mr. Lakshminarayana’s visit was marked by rousing reception by social organisations and politicians irrespective of their political affiliations.

The participants specifically hailed his efforts to rid the society of corruption. Swamy Vivekananda Charitable Trust Chairman and Lok Satta district president T. Lokesh Babu presented him a CD on ‘Siva Sthuthi’. Mr. Lakshminarayana appealed to the youth to change themselves to change the society.

At the Sukabrahma Ashramam later, he went around the library and expressed surprise at the vast collection of books. Arya Vysya body’s state office-bearer I. Muralikrishna presented him a book on ‘Geeta Makarandam’.
