Ayodhya: the Vishwa Hindu Parishad conducted a yagna here on Sunday to achieve a grand temple for Lord Ram.

Leading the collective prayer meeting at the Dattatreya mutt here, VHP State Coordination Secretary Menta Rammohan Rao said the yagna was performed in keeping with the resolution adopted at the recent Dharma Sansad at Sants Sammelan at Kumbh Mela headed by Kanchi mutt seer Jayendra Saraswathi.

Similar yagnas were also held at Gudur and Atmakur in Andhra Pradesh. Devotees chanted 13 crore Ramanamajapa, the 'Vijaya Mahamandra' on this day to achieve their long-cherished goal, he added.
