The BJP vice president, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said on Thursday that the BJP is firmly committed to building a temple at Ayodhya but the political priority at the moment is fighting price rise and corruption, and ridding the country of the bad governance of the Congress-led UPA.
Replying to questions whether the BJP had sidelined its ideological commitment to the Mandir and why its leaders were silent on the Ayodhya issue, Mr. Naqvi said it was not the case.
“We are honest about our ideological commitments. But political issues which are before the country are our priority,” he said.
