Goddess Lakshmi is the Mother of all forms of wealth and prosperity. She is the wife of Lord Vishnu, the Preserver. She also represents health, beauty, peace, strength and auspiciousness. The image of Goddess Lakshmi is depicted as standing on a lotus with gold coins flowing endlessly form one of her palms. This is a symbolic representation of the fact that when wisdom blooms in the mind of a person he/she is blessed with immense fortune. It is only through divinity of character that we can attain her blessings.According to Hindu mythology there are eight forms of Lakshmi, which is more popularly known as Ashta Lakshmi.
